Pigs do fly

Or they do when they come in the form of a large mixed flock of blackbirds. I think we had a flock of between 50 and 75 hanging around today stripping the platform feeder of its seeds and hogging the tube feeder for a while. They really weren't as bad as they have been in the past though. The starlings seemed to have mostly stayed in the grass looking for seeds .The grackles and cowbirds are the real pigs, though the redwing blackbirds were into the sunflower seeds .The blip is a cowbird and female redwing blackbird in the pine(taken through the window because every time I opened the door they all took off for the neighbor's trees).
The good thing was : they didn't stay all day ! The cardinals, juncos, various woodpeckers (and even the red breasted nuthatch) had the feeders to themselves for a while in the afternoon.
