Ice Ice Baby
I read that there was an 'Ice Cream Festival' on at King's Cross, Granary Square today, so hopped on a train (or two) and off I went!
There were absolutely massive queues at each ice cream van/stall, but as I decided to be patient and chose the 'Gingers' van. After about 3/4 hour queueing (I know, I know..I'm sure an old traditional 'Cornetto' from a corner shop, bought in 6 seconds would have done!) I was determined to try the 'salted caramel and peanut butter ice cream', with another dollop of hazlenut and truffle (or something like that). Just as I was served, of course the hazlenut and truffle had run out (but I kept calm, like a good woman) and had a rather large, melting cone of the peanut buttery, salty ice cream, which was rather different and rather good I'd say!
I resisted stripping down to my underwear and joining the children running through the fountains and instead walked the greedy ice cream off, along to Camden along the canal. The canal was looking rather pea-green and sludgy today..full of green algae in parts.
