Winter Rose

One of the hellebore plants I got for Christmas is filled with flowers.  Its in a pot on my patio so I can enjoy it through the window.  In Extras you can see the flowers in more detail.  They have cream petals with a touch of green and yellow, and the stamen in the middle of the flower are deep red.

A sunny morning but with a stiff breeze.  After some chores I eventually walked up to the allotment to check all was well.  The hawthorn hedging I planted a couple of months ago is now in bud but the blackthorn have yet to show any signs of life.  Fingers crossed.
