The daughters of John and Frances Kir(k)by

In the quiet graveyard of All Saints church at Low Catton, near to Stamford Bridge these interesting Eighteenth century gravestones are situated. Note the variation in spelling of the name Kir(k)by. Please take the time to look carefully at both photographs. I especially like the way that the stonemason seemed to be averse to any kind of pre-planning and measurement. Take note of Upper Catten (sic)
