Dicing with Doris

Forget recording the radio show or going for a run, today was mostly about watching the weather and realising that this evening's flight to Dublin was unlikely to be smooth. The drive down the motorway to the airport was mildly exciting - and pleasantly interrupted by a quick bite with the Minx, miniMinx and the Minx's mum (matriMinx?) - but soon enough I was parked up and heading into Departures.

I got it just right, though. A quick pint and raising of the glass to wish my friend Andrea a happy birthday was followed by a large red wine, which, in combination, was just enough to see me doze my way through a bumpy flight and wake to enjoy a skilled landing through what appeared to be a strong crosswind. It felt like we came in fast and the most 'exciting' part of the flight for me was actually the braking.

(After that, the Minx provided some excellent remote assistance helping find the bus, the right place to disembark, and then the hotel.)
