Worker Bee

Mom was helping with the flowers when I got there today. She said, "I'll just finish this and then we'll go." They separate out the dead flowers, refill the vases with clean water, then arrange the flowers (again). Fresh and new. On the walk, mom said something about what she'd done at school that day. I think she's okay with Silverado as a place to spend her days. It's the "being left there all alone" (what she said when she realized I was leaving) that upsets her.

She also got a haircut and a perm today. Here the tight curls are crisp against her head. When we went to get her coat for our walk I brushed it out a bit. She looks great.

I left her with Arvin and Ann at dinner. I'm glad she had friendly dinner companions. I do not let myself think about what she does all evening. I hope she contents herself with the stuff in her room or maybe finds someone to talk to.
