Route 23
Where has the time gone? It's already March and the late afternoon is light enough for me to stop at some convenient spot on the way home from work for some photographic therapy.
This is the River Itchen on the outskirts of Winchester as it passes under the M3. The river bank has been built up and channeled under three bridges at this point: the M3 itself; the B3335 Hockley link, which feeds onto the motorway and also crosses under it; finally a disused Victorian railway aqueduct (by far the most attractive of the three). Today it forms part of the national cycle route 23 from Southampton to Reading.
I have chosen an abstract view of the river bank for today's image, which hopefully meets Ingeborg's AT88 challenge
