Qu'est-ce que je fais ?

Formerly FLAX

I spent the better part of the day wrapping up my photos from last night. I shot over six hundred frames in about two hours time. Granted, I shoot many multiples in order to (most often) have a reasonably acceptable look on someone's face as while speaking (AND eyes open!), but I still have to go through them all to weed out the least acceptable, as well as those that simply aren't usable due to motion blur or being out of sharp. (Yes, that happens WAY more often than I'd prefer to admit.)

I wasn't feeling much in the mood for walking today, frankly, but I managed to stroll down Market Street to the Civic Center area, where I popped in to the library to see what books were on sale. I picked up two: the companion book to Ken Burns' Baseball Documentary, and Leonard Cohen's Selected Poems 1956-1968. The latter was a gift to someone years ago and is inscribed:

To Harold Anton
Because he is Harold Anton
Pearl Bond Ernst

Oh, and regarding the title of this, FLAX art supply store was a fixture on Market Street for many years, but as more and more landlords decided to gouge their tenants during this recent tech boom, the business picked up and moved to Oakland.
