Thai Ridgeback.

This lovely dog was sitting at the back of a market stall. After asking the owner if I could take a photo, she told me a bit about him and some facts I looked up. The Thai Ridgeback is an ancient landrace dog. (Domesticated, locally adapted species) Formally unknown outside of Thailand, is now gaining notice in the western world. Also known by the name  Mah Thai Lang Ahn. One of only three breeds that has a ridge of hair along it's back,that runs in the opposite direction to the rest of the coat. The others being the Rhodesian and Phu Quoc Ridgebacks. A hearty, healthy, intelligent breed that likes to spend most of it's day lounging about !  A dog's life ? Doesn't sound too bad !    Re yesterday's blip, I have amended it to belonging to Emmanuel college, linked to the main college by a tunnel under the road.
