Here be aubergines (2)

Remember this? I only spotted the fruit today . I was looking for the wrong thing- something long and dark and pendulous and now I'm stuck with the quandry of how I know it's ready. In the background are tomatoes. They are very slow to ripen this year. Never mind - lots of chutney!
