Lordstones
This is the second time I've visited Lordstones in Carlton in Cleveland.
The first time was Sunday, where- with my best friend- we took the challenge upon us of climbing the first peak. It was a wildly windy day, I really thought we would be blown off..! Success. We achieved climbing the peak in about 25 minutes, followed by an hour long trek down and around the side.
Although today was much less windy this almost made it more difficult however we were overjoyed at climbing the first peak in 15 minutes.. I have never felt so fit, free and appreciative of fresh air. It was amazing! Sunday was my first taste at pollution free air (in principle), no bricks and houses, no hustle and bustle of cars and city centres.. just nature and it was great. So why stop there? When we returned today we decided to push ourselves and climb the second peak. I didn't think it were possible to have even better views from the next peak but I was impressed to say the least. I wish I had a camera with the ability to capture what my eyes saw (to any extent better than my iPhone..) although it does little justice the principle remains, and I do rather like my snapshot here.
It would definitely say you have to see it for yourself.
You have to feel the wind blowing through your hair, swirling around your body, pushing fresh crisp life into your lungs. It's breathtaking to feel and to view such beautiful sights.
Sometimes we have to let go of everything going on around us- even for a moment- close your eyes and let go.
In the moment today, I felt good.
