Living beneath a Giant

Late this afternoon, I walked through Lanthwaite Wood and climbed onto the grassy top of Brackenthwaite Hows. The sun broke through clouds behind me illuminating Grasmoor and the little farms beneath, which stand on the lane running down to Buttermere. The deep river channel to the left is Gasgale Gill, which became a raging torrent in the December floods of 2015.
