Hope Google got that right! Happy St David's Day to all Welsh blippers. I nipped out to the Faery Walk this morning where the daffs are current;y getting flattened by the next gales. This is the madly overgrown wildlife area in the garden and the daffs are looking good and the bluebells not far behind.

An unexpected delight last night - First Monday in May proved to be wonderful!! A beautifully made film with nice touches of sly humour and clever editing as it followed the behind the scenes activities for the annual fashion exhibition put on by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York in collaboration with Vogue Magazine. The first Monday in May is when all the 'celebs are invited to a swanky preview and the Met Ball, and it's a massive fund raising event for the Met. Ultimately in charge was the frankly terrifying Anna Wintour - known as Nuclear Winter, for very good reason. Our main man was the Costume Curator, a delightful chap originally from Lancaster who managed to remain focused, unfazed and polite as tensions mounted. He cut a rather dashing figure in his ankle length trousers and large shoes. The work involved was  incredible as were the egos and the minions were still attaching roses (250,000 of them) to a colossal vase as the red carpet was being wheeled out. Biggest diva prize must go to Rihanna - even the the people at Vogue gasped at her fee , the amount of which had to be beeped out- she was performing - and she sashayed up the red carpet in an amazing yellow silk confection with a train that required 5 people to carry it! The end exhibition though was gob-smackingly beautiful - well done our man from Lancaster. Do see it if it comes anywhere near you.
