Orca

We had a bit of time before G's appointment, so we went for a walk along the Nanaimo waterfront.  There were some sunny breaks and a cold wind, but thankfully no snow.  I liked this wall art of the orca on the back of a public toilet, a colourful way to brighten up an otherwise dull concrete block wall.  I don't think that the ordinary details like the locks and  the pipe detract from the art at all.
It was a long, nearly 12 hour day with the travel time, but worth it.  I was a bit worried about road conditions, but rain that started in the afternoon and a slightly warmer temperature had melted most of the snow, and by the time we got home, the roads were just bare and wet.  It's been awhile since I've driven in the dark, rainy conditions that were the norm at this time of year when I was commuting to the big island, and once again I was thankful that I don't have to do that daily commute now.
