Thank you

Lots of emotion today and totally overwhelmed as I read your blipday words. Kind, thoughtful, caring, supportive and enthusiastic are just some words which come to mind, I'm so touched, surprised and thankful. I feared I would lose complete contact when I discovered I could no longer comment you because of my eyes and condition but your words made me realize your all still there. Thank you so much for taking the time to say hi when you can and sprinkle a few stars and hearts. I'm delighted you enjoy seeing a little slice of New Zealand from my corner and all it has to offer, 7 years is a while for keeping a journal but this journey will continue, so we'd better get on with it :)))

Wild Wednesday found mum and I stopping at the Kaiapoi Lakes to see if any wildlife was about. The signs have been up about 'No feeding bread' since middle of last year and since then most of the wildlife have moved on - guessed they liked bread and not the food which was advised to give.

It was hot and dusty as the grass is dead, it's ever so dry here at present. The only greenery seen were native plants and raupo which grows in the water. We saw mallards, shags, one juvenile black swan, a juvenile scaup, Australasian coots and very surprised to see three Australasian coot chicks. They were tiny and still dependent on the adults for food. We watched as the adults broke and chewed weed growing in the lake and then fed the chicks, gosh those tiny chicks were noisy! We hope they survive as it's getting a little late for chicks with autumn now with us.

Not the best blip as the angle is all wrong but shows an adult feeding a chick, other shots are off the parent in my extra's.

Today was just like yesterday, cloudy grey morning with the sun breaking through round morning tea and staying with us until afternoon tea when the cloud returned. I think tomorrow is supposed to be the same with a high of 23C so not cold with just a whiff of wind.

Thank you again, I'm truly touched :))

Happy Wednesday everyone :)
