After The Lunchtime Concert
I was too slow in extricating myself from my seat to obtain a photo of the instrument on its own but succeeded in catching David Gerrard, the performer of today's concert. In response to enquirers was demonstrating the action of the harpsichord by lifting one of the jacks, indicating the plectrum that plucks the string as the keyboard is played.
This particular instrument was made in 1987 by Joop Klinkhamer of Amsterdam, the programme included Partita No 3 in A minor, Suite in A major and Prelude and Fugue in C major, by J.S. Bach.
