Whitby!

Have lovely memories of this place when as a teacher ( and with great support Graham Denholm ) I brought groups of children here. The town has a great history and in the sunshine today was very pretty. If you look through the whalebone arch you can see a flight of steps leading up to the Abbey. There are 199 of them and each group of children were encouraged to count them one at a time with the threat ( never carried out) that if they got the answer wrong they would have to start again! Oh the fun we had confusing them. At the bottom of the flight of stairs is a sign saying 199 stairs but none of the kids noticed it.
