The Paisley Shawl

Forbes Place, Paisley was the heart of the Paisley Shawl making industry. This whole street was a purpose built Office and Warehouse complex for the shawl makers who opened in 1838. This is where they kept stocks of yarn and designs for distribution. The completed shawls were returned here for inspection.
