Martyrs

I've Blipped the Valley Cemetery, which has many interesting monuments, before. It is a beautiful day with blue, blue skies and the tiniest hint of warmth in the sun.  So I took the dog up to the castle and had a wander round the surrounding area.  This is the monument to the Covenanter martyrs Margaret and Agnes Wilson.  They actually hailed from Galloway and as you can read here had no connection with Stirling.  They're commemorated here because of the proselytising nature of the cemetery which was built not just as a graveyard but also as a place of education about presbyterianism
