The Mother Lode

During the afternoon dog walk I wandered past this old mill or farm building that had a huge pile of old bricks dumped at the side of it. Lots of old Prestongrange and Edinburgh bricks but also one Muir Armadale. "A Muir Armadale?" I hear you say. Yes, indeed from the Barbauchlaw Brickworks which was opened in 1893 and closed in 1947 so quite a rare one.

Apart from that excitement, it was an early start to get Mrs Smith on the London train before getting home in time to chase the kids out to school. Finished off some work and then met Ruby in the Loft for a coffee before bringing her home so she could work on her dissertation.

Joe and Eve returned home cautiously optimistic about the Maths exam they'd done. Dinner for four tonight as Mrs Smith is staying overnight in Newcastle. Nobody is hungry at the moment but I'll need to rustle something up before Liverpool face the Foxes.
