Seasalter to Whitstable via the Old Neptune
As if the heaven's had been listening, & possibly as a treat for my third & final day off, today was a beautifully sunny & warm day, with thankfully little wind, much to our relief. And so, after I'd given my car its two yearly clean, we set off along the coast to Whitstable. High above the jumble of pebbles, the dark green slimy seaweed & the shimmering sea, the cloudy blue sky stretched out as far as the eye could see, it was very picturesque & made for a beautiful walking scene.
We had a sit down f & c in the f & c shop in town, popped into ye old sweet shop & then en route back to our swiss chalet we stopped in at the Old Neptune pub for a few drinkies. In the distance is the Isle of Sheppey & to the far left is Seasalter. Whilst there we met a seemingly nice but odd Bristolian man & his dog Rocko, a little jack russell, who was very inquisitive & went off on a number of missions along the seafront with his trusty black pebble. He really had no worries about racing off on his own. He can just about be made out in the bottom right of the Blip & he was such a trooper that he had to be featured today.
Heading back to base tomorrow, which is a terrible shame, but it's been a lovely few days by the coast & I look forward to returning to its serene setting soon.
