Spring In The Air George
Mornin' Vicar,
We are still registered at the doctor's surgery in Leith. This is partly because we are useless and partly because the doctor's surgery in Stockbridge is also useless. I did enquire:
RECEPTIONIST: Oh that's fine, you can register with us between 12pm and 2pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
No, that's not fine. Not if you work at the Gyle Tuesdays and Thursdays. So anyway, basically going on the theory that we live in an uncertain world, and the sun could explode at any time, and you know entropy, what would really be the point of moving surgeries?
Put in relative terms like that, one can rationalise anything. So this is why our bi-monthly repeat prescriptions mean I have to take a walk down to Boots at Ocean Terminal.
Well, it's good to get out.
Today it was particularly good. It was a lovely, sunny, brisk February day. I could see daffodils and crocuses. Happy dogs tearing up and down by the Water of Leith that accompanied me all the way from Stockbridge down to The Shore.
And on the way, a Robin. I have previously had no luck at blipping birdlife. It's practically impossible on an iPhone and I have a lot of pictures of what look like flying turds to prove it. But Er Indoors bought an expensive camera for her trip to NZ and now it accompanies me everywhere I go.
This little guy was unimpressed by my new hardware. He refused to stay still and pose for me. I tried to zoom in and then of course lost him as he flittered from branch to branch. But somehow, this happened and it is even in focus.
I feel like a proper grown-up photographer. This will not last and I'll post another sh1tey effort tomorrow but for today you can enjoy my picture which is entitled "Portraits of Spring: A Meditation in Green and Orange and A Bit of Brown".
Now I am home and in a bit of superb timing the rain has just started. But for a moment there was Spring in the air George.
Spring in the air yourself Vicar.
El P.
