Shadow Dance & Fireworks

This weekend sees The Edinburgh Mela comes to Leith Links which is a 2 day festival to promote and celebrate the diverse communities and cultures in Edinburgh through the arts, dance and music.

There will be lots of music and dance, fashion and food all weekend, should be fun.

To start there was a free show this evening at the links which consisted of the narrated story of Rama & Sita the story was illustrated against a large screen using shadow puppetry and dance. It was very good and not something I've seen before, certainly not outside on such a large screen anyway (and luckily the rain/drizzle that we had almost all day stopped). The show was also punctuated with fireworks and a couple large fire sculptures reaching a crescendo of fireworks at the end.
