Farewell

At 2pm today, we -the village- congregated at St Edith's Church to say farewell to Nancy.
The church was full of people paying their respects to a very lovely lady, a lady whose history here goes back as far and quite likely further than mine.
Thank you to the family for sharing your wonderful photo albums and the book of words and memories, some of which struck home to me as they rang bells reminding me of my Mum and Dad...in particular the line highlighted in this blip.

I've attended a lot of funerals since moving back here 24yrs ago... thought I might have hardened over the years !

One thing I will say, come my day every one must wear a bright/clashing colours and NO black.
