My strategy paid off. I had a plan to keep her up until nearly eleven last night crying about some short-lived or possibly imaginary ear issue so that she would sleep in the afternoon and I could do a bit of allotment tidying and sow some broad beans.
That, and more, including a bit of tidying up here and there. The rest of the day has been pleasant and the macaroni cheese was, for the very first time, judged better than the nursery's version.
There's a lot of work to do. At this time of year it feels like there's plenty of time, though. That feeling doesn't last.
