A good day but a bit of a rubbish blip: not enough light; too much camera shake to be pleasing.

No refereeing for son 2 so W and I decided to take on the remains of Doris day and head out to Shackleford on the bikes. Strangely the legs felt marvellous heading out in a roughly NE direction but felt suddenly leaden when the time came to turn back for home. Felt like we'd definitely earned our breakfast afterwards.

Rest of the morning spent sorting out the food shopping while W prepped aging bits of technology ready for eBay and I even managed to get out before lunch with the pruners to finish taming the wisteria. More garden stuff in the afternoon: cutting back the overwintered perennial stems is well overdue but fortunately Doris made a good start for me yesterday. Noticed that the cherry tree has 2 fallen branches perched precariously on some of the lower limbs right over the hens' coop. Not big enough to cause major destruction but I wouldn't want one falling on my head. Time to volunteer son 1 up the big pruning ladder to sort it out I think.
