Tinto de Toro
A last gasp Blip, about 11pm. Poor quality on account of the photographer being full of wine.
But... it’s educational. The label on the bottle is all in Spanish (no, it wasn’t from the supermarket) but I figured out the grape variety is Tinto de Toro. That meant nothing to me but a quick research on Wiki told me it’s another name for Tempranillo.
Mystery solved. It also explains why I enjoyed it.
It was opened to accompany a snack dinner of Scottish and French cheeses, Italian ham and olives, Scottish bread and Welsh butter. Have to enjoy these exotic European foods while we can still afford them.
So, how does one translate Tinto de Toro into English? Red Bull? Surely not.
