The calm after the storm
Storm Doris has gone and we had blue skies and sunshine again today - but there was a sneaky cold wind. I noticed a few wooden fences had fallen over in our area and the roads are littered with broken branches.
Last night we thoroughly enjoyed the ballet Sleeping Beauty. The principal dancer, Marianela Nunez was a delight. She danced with a lightness in her step and never lost the tiniest bit of control in those muscle straining, quivering moments - her performance of the rose adage - when Princess Aurora meets her four suitors, which is considered one of the most difficult pieces to dance in ballet - was flawless.
Today I had to go up to London, and it was lovely to see the city under such beautiful blue skies, but I wish I had worn a warmer coat! The Albert Bridge is looking very fresh after its recent refurbishment which took almost two years. It is particularly pretty at night when it is all lit up.
