Memories on a shelf

...of good food and a black beach.

It was an interesting day for cycling today. As I turned into the main road it felt like I hit a wall. Needless to say my heart rate was a bit higher than usual after that.

Our neighbourhood has been on BBC News today. According to them we now apparently live in the slightly more upmarket St. Margaret's up the road. Anyway, a huge old tree fell across the road this afternoon and they were still there chopping it up when we were on our way back from a run this evening. The tree stood in a builder's yard but had it fallen the other way it could have taken out the house next door completely! Luckily no one was injured. I hope they arrange for the tree next to this one to be taken down too, in a more controlled fashion, as it is about the same age.
