Chalk and Cheese

Well ... not quite.  

The second of my yellow surprise crocuses alongside a sister seedling.  The lilac purple flower is typical of the original Crocus sieberi ssp nivalis (aka C. nivalis.)  I have had a tray of crocus pots in the car at the hospital for the last two days!  I am hoping to repeat the cross that produced the yellow form, this time intentionally .

Jamie could be home in the next few days.  We've worked his arms so hard with the basketball that they ache - and so do mine!  I will be glad to be finished with the too and fro ... although that won't mean everything is fixed :-/
