This old house

I had an appointment the other side of Cambridge which took me past my old stomping ground and the estate where I grew up. I couldn't resist a slight detour to go and look at the house. The whole area has changed enormously with lots more houses there since we lived there in the 70's and the allotments which were at the back of the house long gone.
I braved storm Doris for a quick walk round the corner to see the play area where we used to hang around and found that bit largely unchanged.
It was a very strange feeling and so many memories came flooding back as I drove past the houses of people I used to know, my brothers friends houses and the corner shop where I'd buy my weekly Jackie magazine.
If you are a child of the 70's you'll probably enjoy reading 'The Trouble with Sheep and Goats' by Joanna Cannon which I read recently and absolutely loved.
Apart from a brief trip down memory lane and an orthodontist visit with Alfie, I have been chained to a hot laptop. Not the most exciting of days off.
