Luxury
I love being retired and not having to go out in horrible weather. Though I did venture out this morning, such is my dedication to my knee refurbishment. Storm Doris didn't quite arrive in Edinburgh - though it was windy, cold and trying to snow (but failing) when Archie and I went out about 8am.
Archie was quite glad to get back home and have his breakfast, but I went on to the pool for a swim before aquafit. But by the end of my hour in the water, I was getting a bit cold, as were others. The group were unhappy because the instructor's music wasn't working and the (young) chap at the desk put on his. Nobody knew any of his music, so it seemed none of us were trying hard enough. We need You're the One That I want (oo oo oo), Pretty Woman and Dancing Queen.
I didn't go to the gym afterwards because I had my duffle coat on over my tee shirt, and it just wouldn't have been seemly for me to be on the crosstrainer wearing my duffle coat. I normally don't have to take off my fleece - I don't exactly work up a sweat.
When I came back, I made breakfast and then popped back into bed for another hour or so. Luxury.
I finished my audiobook while awake in the wee sma' hours. So I've got a new one - The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes. Thank you, BorrowBox.
Archie and JR went out in the afternoon and there was no sign of Doris, though I see in the news that she has wreaked havoc elsewhere.
Archie grabbed my socks, his usual trick, and ran off with them. I don't mind if he gets them, but he loves to be chased. He's friskier than usual, having been inside most of the day. I'm not.
