Old Royal High

Lovely day for my Wednesday lunchtime walk: down the Royal Mile, through the New Calton Burial Grounds, along Regents Street, past the disappearing St James Centre and back. The controversy of what to do with the Old Royal High is in full swing again. I so hope that the Council will not allow the hotel plans to go ahead. It would be a great shame if the site was altered. I am also not convinced that an exclusive hotel will be very successful. And, to top it all off, there is an alternative proposal to move the music school into the Old Royal High which would be much more in the spirit of the building.
