Politics is about people

Politics is too often a minority sport - and by that I mean that those involved very rarely communicate ( or get to communicate) the day to day reality of what a political career and life is all about , which is usually comradeship, working together and trust.

So tonight can I give you a picture of a someone I have worked with for a long time - Linda Fabiani, MSP for East Kilbride, Deputy Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament and long term friend whose 60th birthday a number of us celebrated in the Parliament's Dining Room tonight with a wonderful meal prepared by students at Perth College who were applying their talents to one of the Parliamentary Dining Nights which encourage those studying hospitality to show what they can do.
