Nothing 'Lasts'

This fine bronze sculpture (Graham Ibbeson, 1986) commemorates Northampton's long history as England's major boot and shoe making town. Now almost all the manufacturers have gone.

The sculpture of children playing on a giant last (shoemaking equipment from yesteryear) is almost all that remains. At least this last should last for many decades.
