Large paper mache  half-figures are present at almost every type of parade, and give a festive flair to any event. Called monos , they are fitted over and carried by a person (usually a man because they can be quite heavy) who looks through a little open space in front so he can see where he is going as he bobs and weaves through the streets.   They are always dressed to fit the occasion - brides and grooms, graduates, dancers, whatever! Small ones are carried by children.
Looks like a slow afternoon for the proprietor of this workshop.
