Today we got a bus from Rijeka to Omisalj and walked 9 km across the island of Krk (my guidebook describes the pronoucation to be somewhere between Sean Connery saying "kirk" and a dog coughing!) to a little town and beach, Cizici. We bought snorkels and masks and spent a few hours swimming around trying to catch fish and crabs. We only got a handful of hermit crabs which were released after a little taunting.
After more drinking and swimming and a pizza we walked back, making it less than 5 minutes before the last bus, at 10 pm.
Today it is wet and stormy and predicted to be like this for a week! Fortunately we are boarding a ferry to Dubrovnik in a few hours that will be our home for 24 hours!
We have stocked up on food and drink and now are waiting for a late fish lunch before boarding.
