To the victor the spoils

Great Nature Photography trip today to the Summit Road. On the way I stopped at the estuary as the light was lovely. These two South Island Pied Oystercatchers were fighting. The one to the left was very definitely the winner. It's holding one of the other bird's feathers in its beak, and the other bird is off.

Had a lovely walk up in the hills with the group.
