Looking for answers....

My self imposed attempt to re-enter the world of work, took a twist today. I was chatting to a potential employer and it suddenly dawned on me I hate this "game"; the fake, false nonsense of having to say the right things ... the frustration of a public body/corporation when you just want to get something done. It dawned on me I don't have to do this, I am doing this because it is expected of me, I expect it of myself ...why?!?
There has to be a better way? Do something for yourself? I do need direction and purpose, but not sure those needs would be best met in a traditional job...excuse my ramble.
