Coming Home to Roost
Its nice waking up, realising you don't have work, and you can go back to sleep.
The worst weather never arrived this morning, but its pretty windy, with 40mph gusts. A bit damp. By about 11 the clouds have cleared away pretty nicely. The ones that are there are racing across the sky.
After lunch, my partner and I decide to go for a walk along the Braid Burn from the Park and through the Hermitage, and back. The park is quieter than the main road. :-) The other advantage is that the Braid Burn flows through the hills at this point, so we are protected from the wind.
In the sun its quite pleasant. Most of the pictures I take are form the Hermitage of Braid. The Extra is of the Braid Burn just after the Hermitage, you can make it out behind the trees. We walk down to the 'Troll' bridge, where the path from the Braid Hills to Blackford Hill crosses the path that follows the Braid Burn.
On the way back we follow the path on the north side. The wild garlic is making an appearance, and the smell is quite pungent.
As we walk back to the west entrance, I get my main Blip of corvids gathering in the tree tops. The sun is low in the sky, so the sunlight catches the tree tops.
The lodge at the west entrance to the Hermitage of Braid is now a café. We have coffee and some lovely chocolate chip cookies, freshly made on the premises.
We walk home back through the Braidburn Valley Park. Its still breezy, but the sun is out. Lovely
