A BIT OF RUFF
There was some beautiful golden light just after sunrise at the Headland, and these two were perched on a ledge on the old sea wall. The one on the left is obviously a "fancy" pigeon - see the ring on its leg, and its exotic hairdo - that has escaped to hang out with the rough tough wild pigeons. I'm not sure about the one on the right which seems to be a bit of a mixture.
Extra shows the damage to my kitchen wall we discovered on our return home. Next door are having major structural repairs to their kitchen, so we went round and spoke to their builder (a mate of the owner) who came in and inspected and promised to make good. He told us that next door (and by implication my house) are lucky to be still standing because of the cowboy conversions that have been done in the past, but I have to say that the only cracks or damage to mine have been caused by their renovations. I find it hard to take him entirely seriously when he's telling us all this with his head wrapped in a bandana covered in skulls and crossbones! (For scale, that's probably about 9 inches long.)
