Labor Day Weekend Road Trip

The first leg of our mini-road trip began with this lovely, bumper-to-bumper experience on I-5, just outside of Seattle. You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day to be sitting on the freeway with your fellow disgruntled travelers. Amazingly, we arrived at our first stop (Portland, OR) only one hour behind schedule and rewarded ourselves with a delicious dinner of burgers, sweet potato fries, and fish tacos, washed down with a few refreshing pints of Genevrier Wit and Red Belgian at the Deschutes Brew Pub. I wish we were spending more time in Portland, but tomorrow, we head over to the coast to begin our meander down Hwy 101. Next stop, Coos Bay!
