I'D RATHER MEET THIS GUY THAN A MOVIE STAR

I have met him on the beach a few times, and he tells me that he walks about three miles down the beach, and then back everyday.  Rain or shine.  When he was eighteen, he joined the US Coast Guard.  First station was Newport, OR.  Thirty years later he retired as commander of the Newport Station. Then he became the Fire Chief of the Newport Fire Department.  After thirty years there, he reretired.  I am honored that he is willing to talk to me.
