Onions anyone?
This morning we were fortunate to have a short guided tour around St Petersburg and the weather was better than expected, given yesterday's rain, but still very dull and grey.
My blip had to be the Church of the Saviour on Spilled blood with its famous onion domes. This is where Alexander the Second was fatally wounded and then died a couple of hours later in the Winter Palace. It houses the exact spot where he was injured, cobble stones and all and is wonderfully decorated with hundreds of mosaics inside and a beautiful marble floor. Well worth a visit.
The canals are all frozen over and the majority of the major river Neva also. Amazing to see.
Time for a short power nap before dinner and then installation night - all our fingers and toes are crossed for success as its our busiest pilot store yet at 17 food tills!!!
I don't think we will be getting much sleep in the next 36 hours....
