Slow Burn
Here is a view of the salt marsh during low tide, you can see the exposed oyster beds in the lower left. These will be completely covered over with water at high tide.
As is typical, it's a sunny blue sky day with some fluffy white clouds. But what you see lurking just below the clouds is in this case smoke.
For a couple of days now we have had a 'controlled burn' going on just southwest of our location. Part of the idea apparently is to burn off dried old brush to allow for new spring growth which provides food and habitat for wildlife.
We live only 10 mins from this so unfortunately, if the wind blows from the south, we smell the burning.
Oh well, progress...
