Abandoned roses
Finally at home this evening after half term week. Mr.W and I had a cool brunch in a cool place near our old flat in Mossley Hill. I took India to the Traffic Centre, as Heidi calls it, to spend her birthday voucher from last year and we met, Mum, Dad, Heidi and Mark for a chinese banquet dinner.
These peach roses were given to me more than a week ago from a friend who had stirred up trouble from nothing for no reason. Suddenly in the middle of all this unwanted, pathetic but exasperating fuss I wailed to Mr.W, why is this happening to me? I hate to admit it but he is wise on occasion and pronounced 'You don't play the game but you are friends with the game players'. He is right about my superficial friends, one of whom gave me these flowers (that i unceremoniously dumped in a jug and abandoned while we were away)as a sorry but couldn't actually say the word. I am unbelievably lucky though to have a cherished clutch of amazing friends close to my heart, scattered all over the place who will never be game players too. These are the friendships that matter.
