Chiswick

We met Emma for coffee at Nero in Richmond then took the District Line to Chiswick.  There we went to Hogarth's House, home of the artist and social commentator William Hogarth from 1749 to 1764.

From there we went to Chiswick House just down the road. This is a stately home in extensive gardens; currently they are holding a Chinese lantern evening show to celebrate the new year, the grounds were full of fantastic installations which are presumably lit up at night.

The main picture is of two Rainbows under one.  The extra is taken in the conservatory where they had a special show of camellia.  It must have been quite warm in there as this lady has taken all her clothes off!

We had lunch in the cafe there before getting the bus back to Richmond.

This evening Emma and Andy are cooking our tea, there are nice smells coming from the kitchen.
