St. Andrew's Angel

Went for a walk this afternoon. We had planned to go to Goring and walk from there but I couldn't face the drive. It isn't far (40 minutes maybe) but having been up to Gloucester last weekend, Swansea early in the week and then back to Basingstoke yesterday I didn't want to sit in a car for another moment.

So we walked up to Sonning, along the river towards town and then back through Palmer Park.

This is a photo of an angel who marks one of the graves in St. Andrew's church in Sonning. I've kept an eye on her for years as we have walked by.

The church yard is full of snowdrops and crocuses at this time of year and I was struck by the thought that there were worse places to end up than under a carpet of snowdrops in that beautiful, peaceful place.

I liked the textures in this photo and while I had some lovely macro shots of the crocuses this one felt like the right one for today.

Really tired this evening so I think it will be an early night.
