Last day of summer (sailing)
We finished our sail training today. It was a beautifully bright August day, windy in the morning and really rather fresh (12°c when we arrived for sailing at 9.30am this morning). The sun shone and by lunchtime, it was warm enough to eat our sandwiches outside although we were still shivering a bit. The afternoon was taken up by trial races round an 'Olympic triangle'. Great fun, not taken very seriously, with various spurious penalty claims against the instructor sailing against us.
The seals were bobbing around as I tacked back and forth across the bay.
All in all, a splendid last day of summer sailing.
This photo was taken at the end of the day looking up the bay from near my brother's seafront holiday cottage (appropriately named Tide's Edge).
