A busy and very enjoyable day at Longshaw. The weather improved as the day unfolded so we had lots of visitors and takers for our half term Winter Wellie Walk. People were very interested too in our display of nest boxes. A number of the blue tit style boxes around the estate have their holes bunged up to prevent occupation by blue tits and the Rangers will only unbung them once the Pied Flycatchers are due to arrive from their migration to ensure that these des reses are available for the late arrivals.
